Hi, I’M Kevin!

I am a physical therapist, a runner, and a running coach.

I want to give you a lens into what prompted me to create this website:

I’ve been a runner since 2018 after breaking up with CrossFit. It was nothing against CrossFit. I was a high school cross country runner and I was embarrassed how far my aerobic development had dropped off, and I was motivated to get it back.

The first obvious question was: how should I train? Run less often at higher intensity? Run more volume with no intensity? How many workouts per week? What is the optimal mileage to improve performance? What paces should I train at? Through trying to discover the best training principles, I learned that there is a lot of contradicting information out there.

It took me YEARS of learning and refinement to discover what I believe are the best training principles. And I think the proof is in the pudding with regards to my own improvement. I have been able to take over an hour off my marathon personal best, from 4 hours 14 minutes in 2018 to 3 hours 7 minutes in 2025. I also was able to run my fastest 5k in 2024, breaking my old high school personal best in 18:08.

When I am learning from someone new, I like to know who their influences were. I would like to share some of my influences below:

  • Books that informed me:

    • 80/20 Running - Matt Fitzgerald

    • Jack Daniel’s Running Formula - Jack Daniels

    • Advanced Marathoning - Pete Pfitzinger

    • Marathon Excellence for Everyone - John Davis

    • Run Faster: From 5k to the Marathon - Brad Hudson

    • Run Like a Pro Even if You’re Slow - Matt Fitzgerald & Ben Rosario

    • The Science of Running - Steve Magness

  • Podcasts that informed me:

    • Running Rogue Podcast - Chris McClung

    • Strength Running - Jason Fitzgerald

  • Clinician’s that informed me:

    • Chris Johnson PT

    • Rich Willy PT

I believe this list includes some of the brightest minds in the running world. I think my unique “super power” is relating to runners from all different angles: as a peer, as a coach, and as a medical provider.

My goal with this website is to use my unique skillset to help as many runners as possible.

In the spirit of helping, I am using this website to make a pledge:

10% of all profits annually will be donated to the world's most effective charities through the Giving What We Can Pledge. Every purchase here contributes to something bigger than running.
